Best of 2013...

I wanted to put this post up yesterday but I fell asleep instead!! The reason being is that I am thinking about starting a new feature called Make up Monday to get a bit of regularity in to my blog... let me know what you guys think.

So this Make up Monday, (now Make up Tuesday) I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite Make up buys of 2013. Ok so from the top... a few of my favourite nail colours.. Two from Barry M. A black sparkly and a rose gold glitter. I am a bit of a sucker when it comes to sparkle and glitter and my lovely friends actually got these two for me for Christmas so they obviously know me very well. I like a Barry M nail polish you can't really go wrong they are good value and I find they don't chip that easily. The metallic blue is actually a H&M number. I have been pleasantly surprised by H&M's nail range, the colour range and the quality is really good for the price I think they are about £2.99. I am less inclined to try the rest of their make up range but the nail polishes are definitely well worth it guys give it a try. The last is from the Topshop Make up range. The colour is Daredevil.. it is my favourite of  2013. The Topshop nail polishes are good but they do need a top coat as they do chip quite easily.

The picture top right is a couple of pieces from the Topshop Make up winter collection. One of their Eye Gleam colours and two Gloss Ink colours. Firstly I get a bit excited about Topshop Make up, I worked for Topshop when they first launched their Make up range so I went to London to learn all about it and not many people may know but it is manufactured in the same place as MAC Make up. I think you can see aspects of MAC in the range through the design and the colour palette range. The new Eye Gleam range I love, it is a cream shadow. The particular one I have got is called Winterfrost, it is a metallic silver colour. I love it it blends in really well with other shadows and it can also be used as a base. Now the Gloss Inks are really interesting they are a cross between a lip stain and a gloss. So even when the gloss rubs off a little you still have the colour underneath. Love love love!

The middle picture is of some Urban Decay pieces... a lip liner and of course the new Naked 3 palette. Need I say more about the Naked 3 palette I am sure you have seen many a review on it. It is I think my favourite out of the 3. A lot of people are put of by how pink it is but I have found that the colours aren't as pink as you might think. I have tried it on quite a few different complexions and hair colours and have managed to find something to suit all.... but I just love it so maybe I am biased. The Urban lip liners I love. They came out earlier last year with their revolution lipsticks- which are also very good. My favourite is the Venom lip liner. I use it as an actual lip colour rather than a liner, so I fill the whole lip in with it and wear it as a matt lip colour.

The bottom two pictures are of a few of my favourite lip colours. A Rimmel one in the Kate Moss range and a YSL lipstick and lipgloss. I wanted to show you this one from the Rimmel Kate Moss range because she brought out a matt lip range and if you don't want to spend that bit extra it is a good alternative to the luxury brands matt lip colours. The Rimmel version isn't as long lasting but nevertheless it is good and the colour pigment is impressive. The colour I have got is the 107. Now Yves Saint Laurent do the most fabulous lipsticks and the one I have here is from the Rouge pur Couture The Mats range. These lipsticks are so long lasting, I like all of them the one in the picture is 206... but I also love the 202 and the 204.... Amazing!

In fact here I am wearing 202 and 204 in this rather pouty-lishious picture taken on the way to my staff Christmas do. Fear not we had stopped to take this picture no reckless driving involved!!

Get experimenting with make-up guys.. try something new!

Frank's Bar

Ok, so I think I may be a little bit late on the bandwagon.. but I love Frank's Bar. I hadn't been there until a few weeks ago. Me and my friend were looking for somewhere to have brunch one Sunday and had always walked past Frank's Bar and thought how quirky it looks.. It most definitely did not disappoint!

Exposed beams, vintage wallpaper, antique furniture.. it was really cosy. All the china cups and plates looked vintage, as though they had been sourced from a charity shop or an auction.
The coffee was amazing! I have to admit I have turned in to a bit of a coffee fiend and the thing is I used to think coffee was disgusting and now I don't know if I could live without it!

The food was beautiful. I had a vegetarian brunch, not that I am a vegetarian but I do really like the vegetarian options on menus and do tend to always pick them. I had scrambled eggs, (anyone who knows me knows my love for eggs.. it has to be scrambled!) hash browns, spicy beans, sautéed potatoes mushrooms and halloumi cheese. It was delightful.. the eggs were beautiful. They looked a bit of a weird almost orangey colour but when I started eating them I didn't care they were an odd colour they were cooked perfectly.

Corr yeah look at that!! If you guys get a chance to go there.. do it!! so worth it. I am looking forward to going back for cocktails!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Hey Everyone...... Happy belated Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!! Hope you all had a rather fabulous time! I went to London for New Years and it was amazing.. as you can see from the firework pics above. Everyone was in such a good mood... well apart from those in the queue for the portaloo.. which is fairly understandable. I thought I would share with you guys a couple of outfits from the festive period.

This was my outfit for New Years.. sorry for the awful selfie picture but didn't get a chance to take a proper photo before the festivities began. I needed an outfit which would last me all day as I was meeting my friends for some sightseeing before the main event.. which despite how often I go to London I never actually get the chance to do.

The burgundy fluffy cropped jumper is from River Island and so is the faux leather skirt. The leather skirt is a bargain, (well I thought it was quite reasonable) £25 in stores now.
The necklace is from Topshop... shiney leggings from Ebay and boots are from Office!! Only problem with a fitted leather skirt it's not very good at disguising an alcohol bloat.

The next outfit was one from just before Christmas. The star piece of the outfit is the jacket.. oh I do love a sequinned jacket and Christmas is such a good time to whip one out!!

Yep that's right I went a bit crazy on the texture with this one... but I love it. This jacket has got to be my favourite purchase of 2013. It's from H&M can you believe it?! I was very impressed with it I think it looks vintage. My little black cropped fluffy jumper is the one you have seen before from Primark. Maybe I should stop using it in my outfit posts but it just goes with everything. Little faux leather shorts, the most scary purchase of 2013 I was terrified of wearing these bad boys. They were also a bargain, £14.99. My faux fur stole came with a coat I had from Topshop and my boots are my heeled ones from Topshop.

I intend to wear this jacket as much as possible... velvet and sequins it's a winner!!

I have a few more posts for you guys to come in the next week or so.. to get you through the sadness of being back at work! :-(

Until then Happy New Year.. may this one be better than the last <3
